I can't cure your excessive anxiety, but you can.

A resource pack that will help you overcome your anxiety. By yourself.

I think I screwed up the exam. Frick, I can't get into the subject combination I wanted...what if I did much worse than my parents expect of me? What will they say? What if I lose the way to my goals? I wish I could be anybody else right now but me.

KEEP READING, YOU JUST STARTED.

To the uninitiated mind, anxiety is a monster that consumes you from the inside. There are two sides to this monster, both of which devour. The first is the mental avatar. Anxiety in the mental form is a series of thoughts that sap away your courage, energy and confidence. They come up with every single negative experience possible, because the monkey brain in man is conditioned to look out for the worst. We are not monkeys anymore, or at least some of us. This spiral of thoughts instill worry, and more importantly fear and panic in us. Fear that our lives will be much worse in some way. But things always, ALWAYS turn out much better than you expect. I'll give you two pieces of evidence.

ONLY MADE IT THIS FAR? A few weeks ago I was feeling like Giga Chad so i started running along the corridor at maximum velocity. Unknowingly, my hand smashed into the screen of a laptop and the pixels were smashed apart, with juice leaking out of them. What did I first do? I ran away like a damn coward. It was my birthday to make matters worse. Then I began cursing myself and started imagining horrible outcomes. I would have to repay the cost for his laptop, and I will face some serious music from my parents. I might get a poor notice on my report book due to my aggressive behavior. Lots of weird stuff.

NOT BAD...

It took me 2 hours to calm down. I asked myself" Ok his screen is gone. I cannot UN-break it. I want it to be fixed now. I also want to do it in a way that incurs no costs on my behalf. What can I do?". I hunted down the person, asked for the model of his laptop, and checked with the website if cracked screens were eligible for warranty service. It was. And he had the warranty. See? Not so bad. You need to learn that whenever you encounter anxiety, remember two things.

  1. Distrust your brain. Know that this will turn out much better than whatever my brain tells me it will be like.

  2. Calm down. I need to breath air, drink some water, touch grass. Get rid of the physical symptoms of anxiety so that your rationale mind can surface.

  3. Think. Ask yourself what IS and what is NOT in your control. Then ask yourself what you CAN DO about it.

Another evidence is an experience of my classmate's. He was really worried he might not get into the subject combination he wishes, because he felt he really screwed up his exams. He even fell into a short winter arc and started fretting over the mistakes he had made. But in fact, he did much much better than he expected, he was eligible for his subject combination by a long shot. So anytime you feel anxious, follow the 3 steps above. Its as simple as that.

If you don't trust the either of us, just remember Seneca the stoic.

"We suffer more often in imagination than in reality,".- Seneca

YOU CAN FOCUS BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.

Some of your anxiety is much worse than I can comprehend. You are going through low times, and things only seem to get lower from here. I like to think of a dialogue from The Dark Knight," The night is always darkest before dawn,". And if you truly want to master overcoming anxiety, practice meditation, every day. I'll leave you to understand the boons of meditation said in better words by someone else. https://youtu.be/UxwRkpYYpEA

If you expected like a full on course with a bunch of lectures and steps to train your anxiety away, this is no place for that. I may have not gone through anxiety as much as intense as some of yours, because I know many people suffer worse than me. But I believe overcoming the daily bouts of anxiety is as simple as 3 steps. Distrust your brain, Calm down, and Think.

SEE, YOU'RE BETTER THAN YOU THINK. YOU FOCUSED TO THE END.
