How to find Peace in Purpose

The truth to feeling more fulfilled with what we live for

EACH DAY

… the world is filled with countless people dragging themselves to the office each, students waking drearily to the sound of their alarms, and people getting thrown into prison. Each day is just another endless perpetuating cycle of weariness, pain and self-loathing, and we just wish to be happy with ourselves.

But what does modern society tell us? Accept who you are, be happy, and just be yourself. But why would you want to be yourself, if you could be so much more? Always growing, learning, achieving, giving, and living.

SERVICE

...is the secret to a more fulfilled life. There it is, straight up. If you want to love your life, you have to learn how to give. This doesn't mean charity, volunteering, donations, and all that. It simply means sharing what you have. And the best of which YOU can share is your wisdom, knowledge, expertise, advice, gratitude, and love(for your closer ones). Teachers teach knowledge. Authors write themes.

Businesses serve people's essential needs. Many of us aren't happy with our current job/school life because we are not giving anything in return to the world. How does giving give happiness though?

One of the most beautiful books I have ever read, "Think Like a Monk," says that the highest purpose in life is to live in service. Self-lessness heals the self. We seek to leave a place cleaner than we found it, people happier than we found them, and the world better than we found it.

TRUTH

Here's my statement: The past 6 months of my life are the most meaningful, fulfilled months I have ever lived. I am very serious.

Why?

Because I have been giving. Giving to you all my knowledge and wisdom about self-improvement. Instead of making me feel," Oh god no, I'm giving away all my secrets to success," there is something infinitely uplifting about the fact that I am a source of change in people's lives. It's a feeling I have never experienced before when you get to literally see people being happier because of you. And that way, if you want to find your purpose in life, ask yourself: What do I have to give to the world and its people, leaving both happier and better than when I found it?

I am genuinely fulfilled because I am sharing wisdom and knowledge. But let's say a student's purpose in life is to get good grades, a high-paying job, and a good financial settlement, will he truly be happy? Each purchase results in a temporary dopamine spike, but that's pleasure, not purpose. Who are you getting good grades for? Is it to make yourself happy for a good job? Or, is it so that using the excellent aptitude you have for knowledge, you may want to, let's say, invent a product that genuinely changes people's lives for the better? The intent behind your actions will determine whether you will be feeling fulfilled or not. And the fact that when you're giving intensely to others, your self-esteem rises EXPONENTIALLY because you have a higher sense of self-worth: The fact that you're good enough to give.

CONCLUSION

Learn to give, and find your fulfillment in good purpose. I love you for the fact that you took your time to read something that may (hopefully) give you a more meaningful life. I respect that. I hope to see you shine soon.

Signing out, Your Fellow Student.
